When it is worth it, and when not

On 4,883 of 7,909 routes we collect, a hold bag costs more than the flight. It is not a figure of speech: it is the sum done route by route, with tonight's fare.

The alternative nobody mentions

All four include a small bag under the seat. If what you carry fits there, the hold bag is not needed — which is why on this site the default price is the one with cabin bag only.
